After six
years in Human Resources my mind, body and spirit were ready
for a new challenge. I wanted to feel like I was making a
difference, and some how making this world a better place.
Believing that each of us is here with a purpose, I was determined
to figure out mine.
Much of 2003 was spent researching different
career opportunities and what it was that I wanted to do
with my life. I was excited when I discovered Personal Training
as a career. Being active for most my life and seeing first
hand how it has helped me with my physical limitations, I
was eager to help others improve their health and wellbeing.
The following year, I received my American Council on Exercise
(ACE) and National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) certifications
and started my training career at Lifetime Fitness in Roseville,
MN. The next two years were spent developing the skills necessary
to educate, energize and guide each of my clients towards
a healthier way of life. I had the opportunity to conduct
fitness consultations with over 250 members and had on going
training sessions with over 100 of those members. My clients
were of all ages, with various limitations, goals, expectations
and past experiences. This hands-on training was not only
educational, but it made me realize that helping others feel
good about themselves was more satisfying than I could have
ever imagined. Now my eyes were open to how big this epidemic
truly is and how many people struggle with their self-image.
I started seeing personal training from a different perspective,
it wasn’t only about improving their physical appearance,
but it was also about encouraging them to recognize their
inner beauty.
In 2006, I created Beingwise, LLC an organization
committed to improving the health and wellbeing of men, women
and children of all ages. Beingwise, LLC was founded upon
the philosophy that, in order to achieve life long results,
you have to focus on both your inner being and your physical
being. Belief in spending time healing your spiritual being
while exercising your mind and body will increase your level
of self-esteem, self-worth and self-respect. Thus making
it nearly impossible for you to be self-destructive. This
self-love will motivate you to be mindful of your whole self
for the rest of your lifetime.
