The unexpected benefits of training that I discovered with Kris Rooney-
When I started training with Kris in March 2006 it was purely for physical reasons. I wanted to look good! I couldn’t see then the other benefits that would develop within me as time went by.
Training with Kris has been a tremendous stress reliever for me. Over the last year I have had to deal with my husband being deployed to Iraq for 10 months. If that wasn’t enough, my dad suffered a serious spinal injury, and I was dealing with mulitple family/in-law issues. I know I was able to make it through all of this because of my time with Kris. The training became a time to focus on taking care of myself and when I would finish my session, I felt great!
The second benefit is accountability. I know that Kris will be there for me a couple of hours a week, and I in turn, need to put as much effort into myself as she does. I also realized it’s a process. I (like everyone else) have good days and bad days, but I never want to stop trying. When I “fall of the horse”, I just get back up and get to work. Kris inspires me to do this.
The third unexpected benefit is how “personalized” the training actually is. I have a physically demanding job, house cleaning. Thanks to Kris’ knowledge on what areas of my body I need to strengthen and what areas I should be stretching more, I feel much better now than before I started my training.
Personal Training with Kris has really been life changing for me. I am much more able to stay motivated, better able to manage stress and overall, a much happier person.
